Give products a barcode
On a product (or a specific batch), add its barcode — printed EAN/UPC or a Storeflea-generated one.

Open the desktop point-of-sale
Billing on a wide screen shows the POS with a barcode scan input.

Scan the item
Point your scanner (or type the code + Enter). The matching product/batch is added to the bill.

Repeat and save
Scan each item; quantities merge for repeats. Then choose payment and save.
Barcodes make counter billing fast — scan and go, no searching. Storeflea supports both product-level and per-batch barcodes.
Setting up barcodes
- Add a barcode to a product (a shop-wide code unique within your account), or
- Add a barcode to a specific batch when you track batches/expiry.
You can enter an existing printed barcode (EAN/UPC) or generate one from Storeflea and print it.
Scanning at the counter
On the desktop point-of-sale, use the barcode scan input. A hardware scanner behaves like a keyboard that types the code and presses Enter — Storeflea captures that, finds the item, and adds it. Scanning the same product again increases its quantity rather than adding a duplicate line. When a scan maps to a batch, the correct batch is selected automatically (and two scans of overlapping batches merge sensibly).
Barcodes shine on desktop billing. On mobile you'll usually search by name, though a phone camera scanner can be used where supported.

Can I use a barcode scanner with Storeflea billing?
Yes. Add barcodes to your products (or specific batches), then use the barcode scan input on the desktop point-of-sale. A USB/Bluetooth scanner types the code and hits Enter, and Storeflea adds the matching item to the bill, merging quantities for repeat scans.
Do I need pre-printed barcodes?
No. You can enter an existing printed barcode (EAN/UPC) on a product, or generate and print a barcode from Storeflea. Both work at the counter.
Does scanning pick the right batch?
Yes. If a barcode is tied to a specific batch, scanning selects that batch automatically, which keeps batch/expiry tracking accurate.
