GST-inclusive price calculator
When your price already includes GST, use Storeflea's inclusive calculator to derive the correct base rate so tax prints correctly.
Quick steps
- 1
Note your inclusive price
Take the price you charge that already includes GST (e.g. ₹118 for an 18% item).
- 2
Tap the inclusive calculator
On the billing line (or product create/edit), use the inclusive-rate calculator button.
- 3
Enter the inclusive amount and tax rate
Storeflea back-calculates the base (pre-tax) rate — e.g. ₹100 base + ₹18 GST.
- 4
Apply
The base rate is filled in so tax is computed on top of it and the total matches your inclusive price.
Many shops quote tax-inclusive prices (the sticker price already includes GST). But a tax invoice needs the base rate plus GST shown separately. Storeflea's inclusive calculator does that conversion for you.
The problem it solves
If you type ₹118 as the rate on an 18% item, GST would be added on top → wrong total. The inclusive calculator instead treats ₹118 as base + GST and derives the ₹100 base, so the printed invoice shows ₹100 + ₹18 = ₹118.
Where you'll find it
- On the billing line — convert an inclusive price to base while billing.
- On product create / edit — store the correct base rate once, so every future bill is right.
There is no global inclusive/exclusive toggle — you convert where you enter the price. This keeps each product's stored rate unambiguous (always the base rate).
Use this together with discounts and round-off; the calculator only fixes the base rate, the rest of the bill works as normal.
Frequently asked
My prices include GST. How do I bill correctly in Storeflea?
Use the GST-inclusive calculator on the billing line or on the product's create/edit screen. Enter your inclusive price and the tax rate; Storeflea derives the base (pre-tax) rate, so the invoice shows base + GST that adds up to your inclusive price.
Is there a switch to make all prices tax-inclusive?
No global toggle. Instead you convert an inclusive price to its base rate where you enter it (billing line or product form). Products always store the base rate, which keeps tax calculations unambiguous.
