Raise your first bill

The fastest path to your first sale in Storeflea — add one product, bill it to a walk-in customer, and share the invoice.

Quick steps

  1. 1

    Add one product

Open Inventory → Add product. Give it a name, a selling price and a GST rate. Save.

  2. 2

    Open Billing

From the menu or a dashboard quick action, open Billing.

  3. 3

    Keep the walk-in customer

For a cash sale you can bill the default cash customer — no need to add anyone.

  4. 4

    Add the product and quantity

Search your new product, set quantity 1, and it appears on the bill with tax computed.

  5. 5

    Mark it paid and save

Set the Payment Method to Cash (or Online) and save. Storeflea assigns the invoice number.

  6. 6

    Share the invoice

Print it or share the PDF on WhatsApp from the confirmation screen.

This is the quickest way to see Storeflea work end to end: one product, one bill, one shared invoice. It also completes two items on your setup checklist.

Before you bill

You need at least one product so there's something to sell. If you skipped it, add one in Inventory → Add product with a name, selling price and GST rate. (A full product has more fields — category, HSN, unit — but name + price + tax is enough to bill.)

The bill itself

Billing adapts to your screen — a point-of-sale on desktop, a step wizard on mobile — but the flow is the same: pick the customer (or keep the walk-in cash customer), add items, choose how it's paid, and save. See Create a bill for the full detail on discounts, udhaar and barcodes.

After your first bill

You'll see the invoice number and options to print or WhatsApp it. Behind the scenes, Storeflea has already posted the sale to your books — your day's sales figure and stock both update automatically.

Next: record a purchase so your stock reflects what you bought, then explore customers and GST.

Frequently asked

What's the minimum I need to raise a bill in Storeflea?

One product with a name, selling price and GST rate. You can bill it to the default walk-in cash customer, so you don't even need to add a customer for a simple cash sale.

Do I have to add a customer for every bill?

No. Cash/walk-in sales can go to the default cash customer. Add a named customer when you want a ledger, udhaar (credit) or loyalty points.
