Add a product
Create a product with Storeflea's guided, one-question-at-a-time flow — only the name is required; add category, price, stock, tax and online listing as you go.
Quick steps

Open Inventory → Add product
Start the guided create flow (Inventory → New product).
- 2
Identity — name & category
Enter the product name (the only required field) and pick a Category.
- 3
Details (optional)
Add a description, Group, Brand and tags — skip if you like.
- 4
Photos & opening stock (optional)
Add images, then your opening stock quantity and its Unit of Measurement.
- 5
Batch & expiry (optional)
Turn on batch/expiry for perishables and enter opening batches.
- 6
Costing & tax
Set the costing method and the default billing price, and the HSN + GST rate under Taxation.
- 7
Online listing (optional)
Set Website, B2B and Storeflea Mart visibility and prices, then Review and save.
Products drive billing and stock. Storeflea's create flow is a guided, one-question-at-a-time wizard — only the name is required; every other section is a "Skip or Add" gate, so you're never faced with a giant form.
The screens, in order
- Identity — name (required) + Category.
- Details (optional) — description, Group, Brand, tags.
- Photos (optional) — cover + gallery (used on your website & Storeflea Mart).
- Inventory — opening stock quantity + Unit of Measurement.
- Batch & Expiry (optional) — turn on lot/expiry tracking and add opening batches (for perishables).
- Costing — costing method + the default price suggested when billing.
- Website / B2B / Storeflea Mart (optional) — show and price the product on each channel (each has its own MRP/selling price; Mart has an offer badge).
- Taxation (optional but important) — HSN + GST rate.
- Review — confirm and save.
Category, Group and Brand are different
Storeflea keeps three separate ways to organise products (Tally-style):
- Category — the main classification, set on the Identity screen (this is what the onboarding "first category" step creates).
- Group — an additional stock grouping.
- Brand — the manufacturer/brand.
You can use just Category to start and add Group/Brand later. See Categories, groups & brands.
Separate prices per channel
The billing price comes from the Costing screen. Website, B2B and Storeflea Mart each carry their own price, so you can sell at different prices in the shop, online and to trade buyers. Set only the channels you use.
It also lists you online
The Storeflea Mart section is visible by default, so a new product can appear on the marketplace as you create it — turn it off for items you don't want shown. Billing works either way. See Get discovered on SF Mart.
Minimum to bill: just a name and a billing price (Costing). Add the GST rate and HSN before you rely on GST invoices and GSTR-1.
Frequently asked
What's the minimum needed to add a product in Storeflea?
Only the product name is required to create it; everything else (category, price, stock, tax, images) is a Skip-or-Add step. To actually bill it, set a billing price on the Costing screen. Add the GST rate and HSN before you rely on GST invoices.
What's the difference between Category, Group and Brand for a product?
They're three separate organisers. Category is the main classification (set on the Identity screen, and what onboarding's 'first category' creates); Group is an additional stock grouping; Brand is the manufacturer. You can use just Category and add the others later.
Can I set a different price for my website or marketplace?
Yes. The billing price comes from the Costing screen, and the Website, B2B and Storeflea Mart sections each have their own MRP and selling price — so shop, online and trade prices can differ. Set only the channels you use.
Does adding a product also list it online?
It can — the Storeflea Mart section is visible by default in the create flow, so a new product can appear on the marketplace as you add it. Turn it off for items you don't want shown; billing works either way.
