Product barcodes

Add printed or Storeflea-generated barcodes to products and batches so you can scan them at the billing counter.

Quick steps

  1. 1

    Open a product

Edit the product you want to barcode.

  2. 2

    Add a barcode

Enter an existing printed barcode, or generate a new one from Storeflea.

  3. 3

    Optionally barcode a batch

If you track batches, add a barcode to a specific batch for exact lot scanning.

  4. 4

    Print if needed

Print generated barcodes to stick on products or shelves.

Barcodes turn counter billing into scan-and-go. In Storeflea every barcode is unique within your account, and you can barcode at two levels.

Product vs batch barcodes

  • Product barcode — one code for the product across your shop.
  • Batch barcode — a code tied to a specific lot, so scanning also selects the right batch (useful with expiry tracking).

Bring your own, or generate

  • Existing barcode — type in the EAN/UPC already printed on the packaging.
  • Generate — create a Storeflea barcode and print it for items that don't have one.

Then scan at billing

With barcodes set, use the scan input on the desktop point-of-sale to add items instantly. See Bill with barcodes for the counter workflow.

Because codes are unique per account, a scan always resolves to exactly one product (and batch, when applicable).

Frequently asked

Can I generate barcodes in Storeflea?

Yes. On a product you can enter an existing printed barcode (EAN/UPC) or generate a new Storeflea barcode to print. You can also barcode individual batches so scanning selects the correct lot.

What's the difference between a product barcode and a batch barcode?

A product barcode identifies the product across your shop. A batch barcode is tied to a specific lot, so scanning it also picks that batch — handy when you track expiry.
