Each shop and godown holds its own stock. Move goods between them with a stock transfer that keeps quantities (and batches) accurate everywhere.

Source stock drops and destination stock rises by the same amount; history records the move at both ends.
On a multi-shop account, a product's catalogue is shared but its stock is per shop. So "20 boxes" means 20 at that branch — each shop and godown has its own on-hand quantity.
Why per-shop stock
- The counter shows what's actually available here.
- Reports and low-stock alerts are meaningful per branch.
- A godown can hold bulk stock that branches draw from.
Transferring stock
When goods move — godown to shop, or shop to shop — record a stock transfer. It deducts from the source and adds to the destination in one step, so totals stay correct without double counting. If the item tracks batches, the batch travels with the transfer, keeping expiry accurate at the receiving end. Both sides get an inventory history entry.
A godown is internally just a shop (with a G-code) — it bills and holds stock like a branch, but the UI presents it as a Godown and hides retail-only features like Smart Ordering. See the Multi-shop guides.
