Tally import & integrations
Bring your whole Tally book into Storeflea by uploading your Masters and Transactions XML — plus how Tally Sync and API integrations fit in.
Quick steps
- 1

- 2
Open Import from Tally
In Storeflea, go to Import from Tally.
- 3
Upload both XML files
Click or drag your Masters XML and Transactions XML files in together.
- 4
Preview the import
Review the preview to see what will come across before committing.
- 5
Import
Run the import to bring your ledgers, items and vouchers into Storeflea.
- 6
Reconcile against Tally
Match the results to your Tally trial balance / stock summary to confirm the migration.
Moving from Tally? Storeflea can import your whole Tally book — this is a built-in, working feature, not a plan. Because Storeflea already keeps Tally-style books (ledgers, groups, vouchers), your data has a natural home once it's in.
What you need: two XML files
Tally import reads two XML exports from TallyPrime:
- Masters XML — your ledgers and items (the accounts and products).
- Transactions XML — your vouchers (which carry the ledgers & items each one uses).
Export both from Gateway of Tally → Export → XML first.
Doing the import
- Open Import from Tally in Storeflea.
- Upload both files together (click or drag).
- Preview import — see what will come across.
- Import — Storeflea brings in your ledgers, items and vouchers.
- Reconcile — match the results against your Tally trial balance / stock summary to confirm the migration landed correctly.
Fresh account only: Tally import is offered only on a brand-new account with no activity yet — once you've made a bill, product or other entry, the option is no longer available (so it can't clash with existing data). Plan to import right after onboarding. It runs as a background job, so it's safe to close the tab — it finishes on the server.
Tally import vs Tally Sync
Two different things:
- Tally import (available now) — a one-time migration of your existing Tally books into Storeflea.
- Tally Sync (coming soon) — ongoing two-way alignment of invoices and ledgers between Storeflea and Tally (master/voucher sync, GUID reconciliation).
Just starting out?
If you don't need full history, you can skip the import and begin with opening balances — enter your cash/bank, customer and supplier balances as of a start date and go (see Opening balances).
API & integrations (coming soon)
An API integration capability to connect Storeflea's data with other systems is on the roadmap. For a specific integration need now, ask support about current options.
Frequently asked
Can I import my existing Tally data into Storeflea?
Yes — it's a built-in feature. Export two XML files from TallyPrime (Gateway of Tally → Export → XML): Masters XML (ledgers and items) and Transactions XML (vouchers). In Storeflea, open Import from Tally, upload both together, preview, import, then reconcile against your Tally trial balance / stock summary to confirm.
What's the difference between Tally import and Tally Sync?
Tally import is available now — a one-time migration of your existing Tally books (via Masters + Transactions XML) into Storeflea. Tally Sync is coming soon — ongoing two-way alignment of invoices and ledgers with Tally.
When can I run the Tally import — is there a catch?
It's offered only on a fresh account with no activity yet. Once you've created a bill, product or other entry, the import option disappears so it can't clash with existing data. So run it right after onboarding. It runs as a background job, so you can close the tab while it finishes on the server.
I don't need my full Tally history. What's the quickest way to start?
Use opening balances instead of the import: enter your cash/bank, customer and supplier balances as of a start date. Storeflea keeps Tally-style books, so day-to-day work stays accountant-ready from there.
