Supplier ledger & payments
See a supplier's running payable and record payments against it, with set-off when a party is both a customer and a supplier.
Quick steps
- 1
Open the supplier
Select the supplier to view their ledger.
- 2
Read the payable
Purchases, returns and payments show with a running outstanding balance.
- 3
Record a payment
Pay the supplier from a cash/bank account; the payable reduces.
- 4
Set off if needed
If the party is also a customer, net their receivable against their payable.
The supplier ledger is the payables mirror of the customer ledger: everything you owe a supplier and everything you've paid, with a live balance.
What's in it
- Credit purchases increase the payable.
- Supplier payments decrease it.
- Debit notes / returns adjust it.
- The running balance shows the current outstanding.
Paying a supplier
Record a supplier payment for the amount, from the money account it left (cash/bank/UPI). The payable drops and the money posts correctly to your books.
When a party is both customer and supplier
Some parties both buy from you and sell to you. Storeflea supports a dual-party set-off — net what they owe you against what you owe them, so only the difference is settled. This avoids paying and collecting the same money twice.
Refund guard
Returns that involve a refund are outstanding-aware — Storeflea won't let a refund exceed the balance that actually exists, so the ledger can't go wrong.
Paid purchases and their settlements are tracked too, so you always know which bills are cleared and which are still open.
Frequently asked
How do I record paying a supplier in Storeflea?
Open the supplier's ledger and record a supplier payment for the amount from the account it left (cash/bank/UPI). Their outstanding payable reduces and the money posts to your books.
A party is both my customer and my supplier. Can I net the balances?
Yes. Storeflea supports dual-party set-off, so you can net what they owe you (receivable) against what you owe them (payable) and settle only the difference.
