Suppliers

Keep your suppliers (creditors) with their details and opening balances, so purchases and payments track what you owe each one.

Quick steps

  1. 1

    Open Suppliers

Go to the Suppliers area (part of purchases/accounting).

  2. 2

    Add a supplier

Enter the supplier's name and contact details.

  3. 3

    Set an opening balance

If you already owe them when you start, record the opening payable.

  4. 4

    Use in purchases

Select the supplier on purchases; their ledger tracks payables and payments.

Suppliers (creditors) are the people you buy from. Storeflea keeps a light, practical supplier list — enough to run payables correctly without accountant overhead.

What a supplier record holds

  • Name and contact for reference.
  • An opening balance — what you already owe (or have advanced) when you begin on Storeflea, so the ledger starts accurate.
  • A running ledger of purchases and payments (see Supplier ledger).

How suppliers connect

  • Purchases on credit add to a supplier's payable.
  • Supplier payments reduce it.
  • Purchase returns / debit notes adjust it.

Together these give you a clear "who do I owe, and how much" at any time — the payables side of your books.

Opening balances for suppliers post through an opening journal (Difference in Opening Balances), the same clean way customer and account opening balances are handled.

Frequently asked

How do I track how much I owe my suppliers in Storeflea?

Add each supplier with their details and any opening balance, then select them on purchases. Credit purchases raise their payable, supplier payments reduce it, and debit notes adjust it — so each supplier's ledger always shows the current outstanding.
