Manage dine-in orders
Watch orders arrive in real time, edit an open postpaid order's items, move it through Preparing to Delivered, and turn it into a bill.
Quick steps
- 1
Watch orders come in
New table orders appear live on the orders screen.
- 2
Accept and prepare
Progress the order — Pending → Preparing → Delivered (or mark Discarded/Failed).
- 3
Edit if needed
Adjust items on an open order (e.g. an out-of-stock dish) before it's finalised.
- 4
Convert to a bill
Turn the order into a GST bill for payment.
The orders screen is mission control for dine-in: everything a table sends lands here in real time, and you drive it to a paid bill.
Live incoming orders
As guests order (and re-order during the meal), items appear immediately, tied to their table. Your kitchen/staff see what to make and for whom.
Editing an open order
Plans change — a dish is finished, a guest wants a swap. Staff can edit an open order's items. A couple of practical rules keep this safe:
- Editing is allowed only on postpaid orders (pay-later tables) that are still Pending or Preparing. A prepaid order was already paid, and a Delivered/Discarded order is locked — those can't be edited.
- An edit re-prices the order to match the new items (it's a full replace of the item list). Empty it out and it's effectively discarded.
Staff can also create an order for a table themselves (for a walk-up or a phone order), not only wait for the guest to scan.
Progressing and billing
Move the order through its statuses (Pending → Preparing → Delivered), then convert it to a bill. From there it's a normal GST bill — apply any discount, take payment, print or WhatsApp the invoice. If the order was prepaid (paid online up front), the money is already collected; postpaid orders are settled when you bill.
Multi-shop
Orders belong to the shop whose table QR was scanned, so a branch sees its own dine-in flow.
Status updates are live, so the guest-facing and staff-facing views stay in sync as an order progresses.
Frequently asked
Can staff change a customer's dine-in order in Storeflea?
Yes, while the order is still open (pending/preparing). Staff can edit the items — for example if a dish is out of stock — and the order re-prices to the new item list. Once converted to a bill, it's handled like any bill.
How does a table order become a bill?
Progress the order through its statuses (Pending → Preparing → Delivered), then convert it to a GST bill. You can then apply discounts, take payment, and print or WhatsApp the invoice as normal. Prepaid orders (paid online up front) are already collected; postpaid orders are settled at billing.
