Set up WhatsApp marketing
Connect a WhatsApp number and get message templates approved so you can send campaigns, wishes and offers to your customers.
Quick steps
- 1
Pick a sending number
Either connect your own Meta WhatsApp number under Senders (phone number, WABA ID, phone number ID, access token from Meta Business Manager), or get whitelisted to send from Storeflea's shared number.
- 2
Get templates approved
Marketing messages use Meta-approved templates — pick ready ones or build your own and submit for approval.
- 3
Top up the wallet
Add balance to your wallet, which funds sending (₹0.15/message on your own number) plus your website and QR sheets.
- 4
Send
Run a campaign, or enable automatic wishes and offers.
WhatsApp is where your customers already are. Storeflea lets you reach them — campaigns, birthday wishes, offers — from inside the app, once the basics are set up.
A sending number — two ways
Messages need a WhatsApp number to send from, and you have two options:
- Your own Meta number — connect your own verified Meta WhatsApp Business number (WABA) under marketing → Senders, with your phone number, WABA ID, phone number ID and access token from Meta Business Manager. Meta then bills you directly for its message charges, and Storeflea charges its ₹0.15/message fee.
- Storeflea's number — don't have your own? You can be whitelisted to send through Storeflea's shared number pool — messages then go out from a Storeflea number, and you just pay from your wallet. No Meta setup needed.
The other two things
- Approved templates — WhatsApp requires marketing messages to use Meta-approved templates. Use ready ones (including Storeflea's festival library) or build your own and submit for approval.
- Wallet balance — top up your wallet, the prepaid balance that funds sending (₹0.15/message on your own number) — the same wallet also pays for your website and QR sticker sheets (see wallet).
Why templates need approval
Meta controls marketing messages to protect users from spam. An approved template guarantees deliverability and keeps your number healthy. Approval takes time, so plan ahead — or use pre-approved templates to send immediately.
What you can send
- Campaigns — a message to a chosen audience (see Send a campaign).
- Wishes — automatic birthday/anniversary messages (see Wish your customer).
- Festival greetings — from a pre-approved library (see Festival marketing).
Business-wide, on Main
The wallet, numbers and templates are shared across the whole account (on Main for multi-shop), while campaign content and targeting can be shop-specific.
Keep your number in good standing: send relevant messages to opted-in customers, and respect any cooldown between messages.
Frequently asked
What do I need to send WhatsApp marketing from Storeflea?
A sending number, Meta-approved templates, and wallet balance. For the number you can either connect your own verified Meta WhatsApp Business number (WABA) under Senders, or get whitelisted to send from Storeflea's shared number. Then top up your wallet (₹0.15/message on your own number) and run campaigns.
Can I send WhatsApp messages if I don't have my own Meta WhatsApp number?
Yes. If you don't have your own Meta WhatsApp Business number, you can be whitelisted to send through Storeflea's shared number pool — messages go out from a Storeflea number and you pay from your wallet, with no Meta setup on your side. Festival campaigns in particular are sent from Storeflea's number.
Why do WhatsApp marketing messages need approved templates?
Meta requires marketing messages to use pre-approved templates to prevent spam and keep numbers healthy. You can use pre-approved templates (including Storeflea's festival library) to send immediately, or submit your own and wait for approval.
